We do like our little garden here in Florida and always keep a few butterfly plants around to attract the lovely things into our garden. Often we will see an empty cocoon but this year we managed to find them before they flew away.
It all starts when the little eggs, which we have never seen, hatch into caterpillars on our milkweed plants. By the time they are done eating an growing our mikweed is totally gone, not a leaf left!

We watch them get bigger and bigger..

When the plants have been eaten we have to look on other plants for the Chrysalis in the cocoon.

Then they start to come out. Look at the following three photos and see if you can see the empty cocoon. This is the first time we actually caught them coming out.

Finally back up and running

So it has been a while since I've posted. For some reason I could not get back into the creating page of the blog. After emails back and forth I still could not get it so I just left it.
This morning I woke about 4;20 AM and eventually got up about 5:30 as all I could dream of when I drifted off was problems at work. So I got up, made a cup of tea andjust randomly tried to publish again and it works! Ha- go figure?
